A New Year...
Another year is ending, and yet another is about to begin. What say we on the status of the world and the events that took place this last year? Overall, I would have to say as eye opening as this year has been (talking about our sharply declining domestic economy; environmental awareness; Iraq; sports betting and steroid use; even more proof of how 'competent' Bush & his gun-toting, friend shooting corporate oil company loving vice president truely are), there has been a dark shadow looming over the entire time. Countless valued, influencial, and historical members of society have passed; many wars have been waged around the world; proliferation (or not, as some claim) of nuclear weapons as a sign of whose balls are bigger; our neglected space program and its mounting problems; America's lack of truely international diplomacy; the enormous shifts of power brought on by new elections/resignations in many big and small countries; pirates who really are mean; and finally the growing shortage of helium...what IS the world going to do with less party balloons?
All in all, what can we as a Global party say that we have accomplished and are proud of? What changes have we made to make our place truely better to live in? Obviously not much, since we're trying to move to Mars.
